Geschiedenis Camille Oostwegel

History

Historic buildings transformed into exclusive hotels & restaurants

Camille Oostwegel is every inch the hotelier. As a youngster he always had a passion for history, culture and gastronomy which led him to enrol at the Hotel Management College in Maastricht and once graduated, he worked for the Novotel hotel brand.

Having gained great experience abroad, he returned to Limburg in 1980 and set up as an independent entrepreneur by opening his first restaurant, with four employees. Since then his business has expanded dramatically and he now employs 350 people across three hotels and seven restaurants ((Château Neercanne, WinselerHof, Château St. Gerlach and Kruisherenhotel Maastricht).

Camille Oostwegel has gained a reputation and talent for renovating dilapidated historical properties and restoring them to their former glory. From them he has created luxurious hotels and restaurants, all with individual characteristics and personality, incorporating the best of Dutch design and hospitality.
