Morning: Art and atmosphere
Wander through the city and cross the historic Sint Servaas Bridge, to arrive in Wyck. Renowned for its curated boutiques and galleries, it’s the perfect place to pause for coffee at Van Wyck, Café Zondag or Resto-bar Cinq, where you can even enjoy views of the Maas River from the terrace. Be sure to visit the treasures on show at the Bonnefanten Museum, or if contemporary art is you passion, Marres gallery has you covered. For those seeking adventure, the St. Pietersberg Caves offer rugged beauty and an insight into subterranean history.
Lunch: Gastronomic heritage
Oostwegel Collection’s award-winning destination Château Neercanne is just a ten-minute drive or taxi ride away, or can be reached on bike in 25-minutes. Choose between the Michelin-starred Restaurant Château Neercanne for refined French-inspired cuisine, or the Michelin Bib Gourmand awarded L’Auberge, for a local, vegetable-forward menu. Alternatively, stay in the city for the legendary ‘zuurvlees’ (Limburgian stew), at Café Sjiek, or enjoy a sophisticated, casual lunch at Harry’s in Wyck.
Afternoon: Historic charm and style
As one of Europe’s most walkable cities, Maastricht is best explored on foot. Join a walking tour by Explore Maastricht, led by passionate guides, and discover a host of destination highlights. Wander through the cobbled Stokstraat, home to high-end fashion at Kiki Niesten and PL-Line. Continue to the Vrijthof, the city’s grandest square, to visit the Basilica of Saint Servatius. Whilst you’re there, don’t miss dropping into the Museum aan het Vrijthof, where the current exhibition, My Circus by Ellen von Unwerth, is on display until 13 September 2026.
Evening: Cocktails and cuisine
Return to the sanctuary of the hotel to sample one of seven new signature cocktails at Spencer’s Bar, followed by an indulgent dinner at Spencer’s. End your night with a performance at the Theater aan het Vrijthof, just steps away.
