From 12 March 2026 Kruisherenhotel Maastricht presents a focused selection of works by John Franzen, bringing together two established bodies of work, Each Line one Breath and Creation is Destruction, alongside a newly developed sculptural series.

Born in Germany in 1981 and based in Maastricht, Franzen approaches art not as expression, but as inquiry. His practice is grounded in concentration, repetition, and structural clarity. Rather than staging images, he investigates underlying architectures of breath, perception, matter, and cosmology.
