Owner Oostwegel Collection combines his role as Managing Director with the role of General Manager
Camille Oostwegel new General Manager Château St. Gerlach
Camille Oostwegel has been fulfilling the role of General Manager at Château St. Gerlach since December 2023 in addition to his position as Owner and Managing Director of Oostwegel Collection. Following the departure of the estate’s previous General Manager, space became available for Oostwegel to take on this role himself. In his new combined position, Oostwegel will focus on further expanding the many opportunities Château St. Gerlach has to offer.
Oostwegel took over Oostwegel Collection from his father in 2020 and has been leading the family business ever since. In recent years, Oostwegel worked successfully to further strengthen the market position of the collection of hotels and restaurants. “With the current fellow General Managers well in place, the day-to-day management of our three other houses and support departments is in more than capable hands. This allows me the opportunity to take on this role now in addition to my responsibilities as Managing Director, which I will of course continue to fulfill.”
Personal connection
In addition, Oostwegel has a personal connection to the beautiful historic estate. “I know Château St. Gerlach like the back of my hand; I grew up here in the area and experienced the restoration up close. Furthermore, I have worked here in various roles, including general service and technical service. For me, it is an estate full of memories, and I look forward to making new special memories as General Manager.”
Passion, quality and family
Château St. Gerlach consists of a former monastery and farmstead, transformed into hotel rooms and suites, homely residences and restaurant Les Salons. The estate also features the St. Gerlach Pavilion, completed in 2017, which can accommodate 1,000 guests for business meetings and events. In his role, Oostwegel will focus on expanding and promoting these possibilities in the coming period. “I have a clear vision of where we want to take Château St. Gerlach. Together with the fantastic team, I will elevate the passion, quality and family atmosphere of the estate to the level that I think is fitting for this beautiful place. I am very much looking forward to taking on this new challenge together with my team.”
